The Ministry of External Affairs(MEA) said on Tuesday that Vietnam President Tran Dai Quang will commence India on a three-day visit starting from March 2 to March 4.
A team of 18 members delegation consisting of businessman and artists along with Tran will visit India, Tran will also visit Bodh Gaya in Bihar, which is one of the honourable Buddhist sacred sites in the world.
Ton Sinh, Vietnamese Ambassador to India said that:
We have a strong defence cooperation with India. We have discussed this between the two countries earlier. We are keen on buying defence equipment for the navy. The issue of China Sea will be discussed during the President’s visit to India.
Vietnam is one of the countries who is raising voice against China flexing its muscles in China Sea.
Indian Prime minister Narendra Modi has visited Vietnam in 2016, when both the countries signed 12 agreements in the areas like IT, space, double taxation etc.
As mentioned in Times Now, India also extended a USD 500 million Line of Credit to Vietnam for facilitating deeper defence cooperation between the two sides. In 2017, India and Vietnam celebrated 45 years of its diplomatic ties.
