Dedication can do wonders and the most recent example of this is Richard Appiah Akoto, a computer teacher at Betenase Municipal Assembly Junior High School in Sekyedomase.

He teaches computer to students on Blackboard, by drawing different applications or software, as the school does not have computers.

” I love ma students so have to do what will make them understand wat am teaching.”

His post went viral and shared across the globe. The post also took notice of NIIT and they decided to help these students.

Ashish Kumar, Manager, NIIT centre Accra, said:  “We saw the news getting viral on Facebook and were so touched by the teacher’s dedication that we decided to support the school with the best we could do as IT training organization.

“We took a printout of the post and discussed the matter with our group CEO Kapil Gupta. He is the one who decided to sponsor 5 new desktops and books for school and a new laptop for the teacher as a part of our Corporate Social Responsibility.” (source NIIT Ghana)

Other donors have also pitched in with computers and laptops.

Microsoft Africa also noticed this while issue and invited Akoto to attend the Annual Microsoft Educators Exchange.

The efforts by Akoto and these organizations will help a couple of students to get what they did not have before.

    It is a good beginning.
