Babri Masjid Ram Janmabhoomi case, who’s hearing was today in Supreme court now the next hearing has been fixed on March 23 and also they dismissed all the 32 intervention of eminent personalities.

BJP leader Subrmanian Swamy has been barred from intervention in case, including other big names like Aparna Sen, Shyam Benegal, Teesta Setalvad and others application for intervening in the case arguing that the land should put on a secular use rather dividing on religious purpose has been rejected.

Subramanian Swamy said that ‘my fundamental rights are higher than my property rights’ as tweeted by ANI

The court said that:

We can’t ask anyone to settle and we can’t say no to settlement. If lawyers of both sides stand up and tell us they’ve settled the issue, we’ll record it. We can’t appoint or suggest anyone for settlement. How can we do this in a case like this.

During its 2010 judgement apex court had divided the land dispute equally into three parties Sunni Waqf Board, Ram Lalla and Nirmohi Akhara.

The case has been heard by three judges bench comprising Chief Justice of India Dipak Mishra, Justice Ashok Bhushan and S A Najeeb.

On Feb 9, due to documents and translation were not yet filed within court therefore hearing was fixed on March 14.

On December 6, 1992, the mosque was demolished by lakhs of karsevaks who had gathered at the site from across the country. The incident had triggered communal riots across the country. The karsevaks had claimed that the land on which the mosque stood was the birthplace of Ram as mentioned in Scroll.
